Job Summary We are seeking a CAMPUS DIETITIAN to join our Food Service Nutrition Team with Chartwells Higher Education at THE CITADEL in Charleston, SC!
The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is located in Charleston, South Carolina. The campus is situated on the banks of the Ashley River, just northwest of downtown Charleston. The campus is known for its historic architecture and beautiful surroundings. It's conveniently located near many of Charleston's attractions, including historic sites, restaurants, shops, and parks. The proximity to downtown Charleston allows cadets to engage with the local community while also benefiting from the serene campus environment along the river. The Citadel is a four-year undergraduate college that offers a structured military education program. Cadets are trained in leadership, discipline, and military skills throughout their time at the college. The Citadel offers a range of academic programs across various disciplines, including engineering, business, liberal arts, and sciences. The college is known for its challenging curriculum and high academic standards. The Citadel offers a unique and challenging experience that combines academic excellence with military training, preparing cadets for leadership roles in their chosen professions. Key Responsibilities:
• Provides nutrition education & training support for the campus community including tabling, lunch & learn sessions, one-on-one counseling, etc.
• Implements corporate wellness programming
• Coordinates with the dining management team and culinary associates to meet dietary needs for all customers
• Provides nutrition related training including food allergen training to all associates
• Assists the management team with menu development and nutrient analysis
• Collaborates with marketing to ensure appropriate nutrition communication & messaging
• Leads Dining Services Sustainability efforts – partnering with operations and campus stakeholders to track, improve, and communicate sustainability efforts in all dining spaces
• Operational execution and oversight – hands-on work in dining spaces to serve guests, train associates, audit systems, collaborate with unit leadership, and ensure excellence in operations and culinary services
• Partner with various campus offices, departments, and organizations to ensure alignment with university goals and needs
Qualifications:
• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing Board in states where applicable
• Ability to present information in one-on-one as well group format
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, professional journals, and governmental regulations
• Experience working with special diets and food allergies
• Strong knowledge of food and catering trends
• Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract managed services experience desirable
• ServSafe® certified a plus
• Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft applications and nutrient analysis programs
