Responsibilities
• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance• Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems• Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision• Replace defective components as instructed• Work unsupervised on most tasks• Perform facility maintenance duties• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint• Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation• Work in accordance with federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines• Acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred• Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred• Basic tools required• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred• All other certifications as required by location• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
Key Skills Needed
• Mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines• Routine preventative maintenance• Basic diagnostics and repairs• AC and electrical systems• Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
