Responsibilities
• Support the waterfront and advise on production and design issues.• Oversee installation and repair of marine power plants and propulsion systems.• Provide technical and managerial assistance on all aspects of project management.• Review work for quality assurance.• Compose memoranda, reports, and other documentation.• Attend meetings and make presentations about project status.• Ensure training of staff members and instruct them on methods and procedures.• Troubleshoot technical problems and take corrective action.• Participate in long-range planning, analysis, and program design.• Conduct Configuration Management (CM) and maintain work product integrity.• Assist in maintaining ship specifications and technical documentation.• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Active Navy Certification as a Diesel Engine Inspector.• High School Diploma / GED.• 10-12 years or more of relevant experience.• Completed professional engineering degree from an ABET accredited college.• Current DoD security clearance or ability to obtain interim clearance.• United States (U.S.) citizenship.• Good knowledge and operational abilities with Microsoft Office tools.• Ability to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility.• Ability to travel (less than 10%) to support activities.• Additional desired experience and skills.
