Leads, monitors and coordinates training of assigned work area, which includes assisting others with production problems, providing work instruction, training and communicating effectively with team to ensure quality parts are being produced.


This individual must be dedicated to the success of Polaris and its quest to continually improve its operations. Perform duties to manufacture Polaris products, meeting OSHA, GMP, and ISO9001 compliance requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works closely with shift Supervisor to ensure production training needs are met. Identify and overcome obstacle to Safety, Quality, and productivity. Works with shift Supervisors to identify operator training needs and expectations to ensure employees in Cell area have a clear understanding of work instructions and standard work. Create and edit standard work when necessary, and work with Engineering to document changes. Supports Continuous Improvement efforts. Trains new employees on machines, safety rules and production processes and procedures. Assists in creating training guides and materials. Monitors the productivity of assigned work area: drive actions to meet and exceed productivity. Updates white board as needed. Communicate information clearly and effectively to co-workers. Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships. Meet deadlines. Interact with other departments and outside firms. Backfill line during absenteeism as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Must pass a MAT at 80% proficiency. Experience with reading and interpreting blue prints, engineering drawings and specifications. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Statistical Process Control (SPC), traceability and material reject review (MRR) procedures. Must be proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T concepts. Education and/or Experience:
Three years of machining and/or manufacturing experience, preferred. High School Diploma/ GED required. Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure Manuals. Ability to read and apply technical data from product specifications. Mathematical/Measurement Skills:
Basic level math skills (including addition, subtraction, multiplications, and division using whole number, fraction and decimals). Ability to use a calculator. Daily usage of micrometers, rulers, and other measuring tools. Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability read and interpret blue prints, engineering drawings and specifications. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Training:
Experience working in a die cast setting is highly preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequently able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment. Occasional exposure to chemicals. Constant exposure to loud noise. Constantly stand and walk throughout workday. Frequently reach with hands and arms. Frequent repetitive motion. Constant use hands/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel or handle and manipulate parts and tools. Constantly wear required PPE (Industry standard safety equipment is provided by Polaris / WSI).
