Full job description Snow Farm Development Manager Description:
Nestled in the hills of western MA, Snow Farm: The New England Craft Program, in Williamsburg, is a residential craft school that welcomes over 1,100 adult and 80 high school students to its campus each year, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Development Manager who has a proven track record to actively make our fundraising flourish. A successful candidate will have a solid foundation in fundraising methodology, including analyzing giving data, and be confident with donor stewardship, cultivation, and engagement; a successful candidate will believe in Snow Farm's mission and the importance of giving.
This position will actively manage and grow the Annual Fund, Scholarships & Access Program Funds, Sponsorships, Business/Corporate Gifts and assist with writing grants. A successful applicant will have a proven fundraising track record, excellent communication skills, and be self-motivated, optimistic, and determined. This position reports to the Executive Director and co-manages a Marketing & Development Assistant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Implement an annual multi-channel solicitation plan, including direct mail and digital outreach, as well as, develop specialized outreach plans for high priority donor segments. Consult with the Executive Director to strategize annual fund-raising efforts and set annual development objectives to meet budgetary goals. Develop copy for donor stewardship pieces including acknowledgement letters, endowment reports, donor impact reports, and other high-touch recognition materials Implement a comprehensive and strategic plan of action to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors to meet and exceed annual financial and participation goals. Manage a portfolio of leadership level prospects with $1,000 and larger annual giving potential. Connect in person with our donors and potential donors when they are on campus attending workshops. Organize additional appeals for capital funds and scholarship funds, including timing and focus of the appeals. Track and monitor response rates and effectiveness of appeals. Collaborate with Marketing to ensure social media efforts complement any fundraising efforts and coordinate timing of these appeals to not crowd marketing initiatives. Advise on updates to giving pages on Snow Farm's website. Secure 3 significant raffle prizes (experiences or art) for our annual raffle. Lead the annual fundraiser, The Seconds Sale, a three-weekend event that sells over 250 different artists' work from the region to insure financial goals will be met or exceeded. This event is produced in collaboration with other Snow Farm staff. Write quarterly Board Reports to report on fundraising progress. Execute development-related events (cultivation events, etc.) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field required. 8+ years of related post-graduate work experience in Annual Fund or related fundraising programs. Proven track record of developing and growing successful fundraising and stewardship initiatives. Personable with excellent interpersonal skills; an ability to develop strong relationships and motivate and cultivate volunteers and donors. Strong written and verbal communication skills and detail oriented. Analytic mind to evaluate giving patterns and build segmented groups. Ability to manage in a collaborative style and work closely with a small team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Work and familiarity with fundraising data management Highly organized, self-motivated, and self-directed with strong time management skills. Salary: $54,000 - $58,000 annual salary commensurate with experience. This position is full-time; in the office with opportunity to work part-time remotely off season, includes paid vacation, holidays, and sick days; $2,000 in health reimbursement. Staff members enjoy home cooked lunches May-Oct and free/reduced workshops!
