Details of the offer

Location: Chicago, IL Job Description: Collaborates with colleagues to execute projects with a focus on increasing participation, revenue, and engagement from prospects, donors, volunteers, faculty, and other key constituents.
Coordinates and schedules logistics of meetings, donor visits, and staff meetings. Analyzes and synthesizes data to prepare custom and ad hoc reports, spreadsheets, graphs and charts for metrics, presentations and meetings.
Supports team on event planning including donor visits, working with vendors, and collaborating with campus colleagues and volunteers.
Works with fundraisers to advance giving strategies.
Utilizes the fundraising database Phoenix to look up and maintain up to date and accurate information and to research information. Monitors gift reports and alerts the team to charitable gifts made by key individuals, donors, volunteers, and/or UCM Trustees or as identified by the Senior Director.
Engages regularly with volunteers and provides a high level of customer service.
C ompose and edit correspondence and other documents for delivery internally and externally (donor acknowledgements, correspondence for leaders and volunteers within the primary strategic constituencies).
Collects/research data to support or answer specific questions/topics related to development and volunteer management activity.
Drafts, proofreads, and creates reports and presentations for the team and the volunteers that they support.
Assists with preparation of the budget, coordinates expenditures, and monitors and reconciles accounts.
Prepares gift allocation forms for gifts received by MBSD.
Has a moderate/solid understanding of fundraising operations for a school or department of the University. Identifies budget requirements and staffing needs on a project or event basis.
Plans somewhat complex activities of volunteer and support groups. Recruits members and provides guidance and support to leadership activities.
Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications Experience: Experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, or similar work.
Experience with fundraising, contract management or other database software.
Experience working with volunteers.
Experience planning and executing events.
Preferred â‹Competencies Strong verbal and writing skills, high attention to detail and follow-up, and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and tact. Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal work s of the University as well as the technology tools available to the Office of Alumni Relations and Development, including Griffin (the University's Donor Relationship Management System), Microsoft Windows computer environment, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Strong leadership qualities, including the ability both to delegate and to execute, thereby leading by word and by example.
Ability to work collegially and collaboratively in a team setting. An exceptional work ethic and track record of personal initiative.
Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills characterized by the ability to listen, to speak, and to write well.
Flexibility and adaptability to new programs in an emerging and changing environment.
Willingness and ability to travel to campus and/or non-campus locations for University business.
Willingness and ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Knowledge of HTML and design software.
Understanding of the University of Chicago, its history and organization. 
Working Conditions Office environment (hybrid schedule).
