Design Engineer I - Mechanical

System One is currently seeking a Product Design Engineer for a  direct hire opportunity in  Bridgeton, MO . Responsibilities: Design, develop, and test new products for the Automotive Service Industry Achieve reliable function that satisfies project scope criteria through the selection of parts, materials, and manufacturing processes Validate concepts through analysis and testing including design of test fixtures and special instrumentation where necessary Design parts and assemblies consisting of sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, castings, plastics, sensors, and electronics Collaborate with other functional groups to meet project deliverables Additional duties as assigned Qualifications: 1-3 years of product design experience, 3+ years' experience preferred Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required Must be a proactive, creative self-starter, and proficient with CAD (Creo preferred) Proficient in MS Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Experience with leading product designs from concept to implementation  Excellent time management and organizational skills Experience with mechanism design, machined metal parts, material selection, system integration, and patent experience preferred General knowledge of automobiles and their suspension systems preferred Passion for Product Innovation Creative outside-of-the-box design mentality
