Position Overview
This position provides professional administrative support to Designer or Senior Designer. As the Design Associate, it is your responsibility to assist the Designer in design, estimation, and management duties.
How you will make an impact:
Design Support
Develop landscape plan in AutoCAD using Designer's redline as guide
Develop grading & irrigation plans to appropriate level for project

approval/construction
Develop planting plans
Understand planting design concepts (location, size,

evergreen/deciduous

balance, appropriate plant for space, perennials, plant combinations and textures)
Produce construction details as needed for subcontractors and in-house crews
Provide detailed dimensions and annotations
Produce sections, elevations, and plan views
Revise plans and prepare all materials for presentation
Compile plant pictures, renderings, product brochures/info and sketch up drawings as required
Gather material samples as needed
Complete as-built PDF plans for client file at closeout for each project
Train with all Designers on landscape design layout and planting design
Management Support
Update weekly task list and keep Designer updated daily on tasks needing completion to meet client and project deadlines
Update sales cycle on current proposals to ensure accurate pipeline and update client contact information
Project filing management
Obtain permitting information from city and prepare permit submittals
Create thorough project Job Packs
Train Design Interns
Site Inventory & Estimation
Perform accurate site inventory/analysis of a project site; photos, measurements, shoot grades
Train and shadow Design interns on Site Inventories
Visit job sites on complicated/large projects to better understand and more accurately estimate project
Perform estimate project takeoffs accurately for all landscape materials, hardscapes & labor
Understand construction methods and practices and how to properly estimate them
Assemble accurate proposals following estimating checklist and SOP
Create High level investment analysis accurately in Excel
Obtain complete and accurate subcontractor quotes, foster good relationships with subcontractors
Review high level investment analysis and final proposals with Operations Manager and Designer
Create and manage change order process
Develop irrigation budgets and final proposals
Additional Duties
Shadow designer on client meetings
Assist in sourcing and vetting new subcontractors
Misc. marketing or office tasks when needed
Answer phones, marketing, attend and/or work business development after hour events, keep design center tidy
Research and share new design trends and technology throughout the year
Always communicate with clients in a professional manner
Ability to manage co-worker, vendor, and client issues as needed
You are:

Your Experience:
2+ years supporting a Landscape Designer or Design Team
Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Design or related field (Preferred)
Valid driver's license with approval from fleet insurance carrier (Required)
Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written
Professional graphic presentation and rendering skills
Experience with AutoCAD software, Microsoft Office Suite, Sketch Up, Luminon, Photoshop, FX Irrigation Design
Landscape design, construction, and horticulture knowledge
Starting Salary Range:

Starting at $55,068/ Per Year + Bonus Eligible
