The role of the department mechanic is to keep all production machinery in production ready condition. This is done by performing daily repairs, major rebuilds, and assisting with scheduled preventative maintenance.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Reports to: Maintenance Manager Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment and buildings using the Maintenance Order section in Bluestreak as a guide Assist in performing preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled by the Bluestreak maintenance module Determine the need for and implement machine repairs and adjustments to maintain and improve operation Have the knowledge to start up and operate all equipment in their respective department Be available for call-ins during off shifts as scheduled on the Call-in Schedule Ensure plant organization and cleanliness by engaging in ThermTech's 6S program Other duties as assigned by Supervisor Minimum Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience: 2 or more years of experience in the maintenance field
Skills Required:
Understand the operation of and be able to repair pneumatic components such as cylinders and solenoid valves Working knowledge and skill to repair power transmission components, pumps, and machinery Ability to occasionally lift and install heavy objects, such as burner tubes or hearth rails Ability to read and comprehend written instructions Ability to use drawings as a guide for repairs and to locate components and part numbers Must have basic knowledge of computer software. Including the ability to interact with our Bluestreak production system and to search the internet for information such as spare parts and maintenance manuals Ability to read electrical diagrams and use them to troubleshoot electrical systems. Working knowledge of motor controls, SCR power controllers, troubleshooting PLC issues, and control panel construction Ability to troubleshoot and repair gas trains and tune burners as well as process control instrumentation installation, configuration, tuning, and application Ability to fabricate custom made parts using drill presses, band saws, rollers, brakes, torches, plasma cutters and welders Must be capable of working with minimum supervision and be able to maintain professional working relationships with coworkers
