Responsibilities
• Greet and monitor patients• Set up treatment rooms• Escort patients to treatment rooms• Review health histories• Perform expanded functions as assigned• Mix dental materials• Chart patients and record treatment information• Sterilize instruments and treatment rooms• Securely handle patient records• Monitor inventory and order supplies
Requirements
• Knowledge of dental terminology• Compliance with dental practice policies and procedures• Knowledge of HIPAA and the HITECH Act• Completion of dental instruments and procedures coursework• Compliance with state dental practice requirements• Legible handwriting for patient charts• Computer skills (specific dental software)• Commitment to continuing education• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills• Knowledge of diagnosing and treating dental conditions
