Position Summary
Performs machine and hand finishing techniques to smooth and blend rough components into finished products according. Reads, interprets and follows blueprints, sketches, and product/engineering specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Know and follow general company and corporate policies and procedures.
Know, understand, and follow department policies and procedures.
Operator will be responsible for the blending of lines using multiples sanding tools to meet engineering requirements.
Operator must have excellent hand to eye coordination and good hand dexterity.
Must be able to lift and move parts using required safety and material handling techniques.
Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures.
Other various duties as needed or as assigned.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Five years' experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess basic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications and activities including (but not limited to):
Language Skills
Ability to read and write the English language.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Personal Skills
Must be able to work in standing position up to 10 hours.
Must be proficient in basic shop math and computer experience.
Required to wear protective safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection.
Must be safety oriented and follow safety policy.
Responsible for the quality of work performed.
Complete work according to work schedule.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Deliver defect free products and meet cycle time set for department.
Ability to deburr all complex parts.
Able to identify surface finish to meet customer specification.
Job required being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
Verify quality of finish work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to finish templates, measuring their dimensions.
Accurate clocking of jobs.
Acceptable attendance record.
Troubleshoot issues independently.
Support continuous improvements in work areas.
Complete work according to the established schedule.
Provide backup coverage for supervisor/manager.
Quickly responds to all situations that could cause damage to equipment, product, or workers without authorization.
Must be willing to assume responsibility for the area operating in.
Owner of safety for the area. All operators/visitors to area are following safety policy, wearing proper PPE, etc.
Provide training to less experienced operators or as directed by management.
Must be able report status of team and products to leadership in an organized manner.
Other tasks as requested by supervision.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Manufacturing environment may be exposed to noise levels, dust, grime and heat. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
