Data Scientist Intern
to support
Avion Solutions.
This position is based in Huntsville, AL.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
Support requirements definition for Large Language Model (LLM) fine-tuning and training project.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect raw training data, sort, clean, organize, and format datasets for use in LLM training.Analyze and process datasets using tools such as Pandas and NumPy.Assist with developing processes to build and train models using frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.Support the development of LLM performance evaluation and benchmarking approaches.Document processes, code, and findings clearly and concisely.Required Experience:
At least two years of completed courses relevant to a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields. Bachelor's of Science degree preferred.Demonstrated ability to work on data science, computer science, or machine learning-related projects in a way that meaningfully contributed towards achieving the stated goals.Strong programming skills in Python (other languages will be considered if applicable to the field of machine learning / deep learning), including proficiency in Jupyter Notebook, Pandas/Keras, and data science packages.Experience working with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.Familiarity with statistical concepts and methods for data analysis.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
