The Pre-Production Team Lead assists the General Manager in providing leadership to the Pre-Production employees to meet departmental and customer expectations.In partnership with the General Manager, the Pre-Production Lead ensures team goals and performance standards are met.

Responsibilities
• Prepares and Sorts documents and identifies and interprets data to be entered• Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer following format displayed on screen and enters necessary codes• Compares data entered with source documents or reenters data in verification format on screen to detect errors• Makes necessary corrections to information entered• Relies on extensive experience and judgement to accomplish department goals• Familiarity with processes and able to access: Company billing policy, lens availability, frame manufacturers• Working with Supervisor, assist with training, monitoring and developing the pre-production team• Must be willing to work all positions within the department; to include hold for frame, frame receiving, and tracing• Promote positive department morale• Coach and train both new and existing employees• Create and support a positive, respectful environment• Maintain neatness of workstation• Helps General Manager in data collecting for training purposes• Modifies Eyefinity and other insurances for correct final billing• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree preferred. Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and ability is qualifying.• 3 years of previous work experience in the following areas, preferably within an optical environment.• Directing and coordinating the activities of employees.• Working with other supervisors / managers to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.• Planning and establishing work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.• Working with managers or subordinates to resolve workers' problems or issues.• Basic Math• Able to read and write English Language well• 10 key-by-touch• Type 45 words per minute• Ability to memorize large amounts of codes with accuracy• Lens materials, production processes, quality control, billing, credits and other techniques used to maximize the distribution and satisfaction of goods to the customer.• General understanding of optical labs• Motivating, developing and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.• Monitoring performance of self and others to make improvements or take corrective actions.• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.• Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
