Job Description: Continuous Vulcanization is a process that extrudes a total of 3 insulation material onto the strand as required by the product design
Brief Summary of Essential Duties: Regular and predictable attendance throughout the shift is an essential function of this position Ability to utilize SOP's, TI's, and CDA's as resource documents Ability to understand the concept of the line and produce quality cable with miminal scrap Ability to completely and efficiently change machine from one product to another Ability to operate the continuous vulcanization process; steam line, extuder, seal boxes, welders, gears, take-ups, pay offs, printers, Ability to utilize measuring equipment-including but nt limited to OD tapes, calipers, micrometers, electronic measering equipment Ability to preform mathematical calulations and mearsuements Expectations: Abide by all rules and procedures Maintain clean work area Make safety first priority Report all safety incidents or issues immediately Perform Any /All assigned tasks by supervisor Sustain a shop floor enviroment with operators helping each other Specific Skills/Training Required On shop floor Maximo training On shop floor basic computer training –including but not limited to SAP, MDC, DCS Education: Required High School/GED Diploma Experience: Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements: Safety shoes and glasses required when working in the production areas Hearing Protection required in posted areas Ability to stand 8-12 hours Ability to bend/stoop to floor level 30 times in 8 - hour shift Ability to push/roll reels weighing 115-1000lbs as required with assistance when needed Ability to climb 2 flights of stairs 4-8 times in 8-hour shift Ability to lift 50 lbs.
