Overview: The Liaison is responsible for checking in patients and directing patients to the appropriate area. Performs administrative duties to maintain a smooth effective flow in the lobby. Must be able to work in stressful circumstances, maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance. Is a resource to patients and visitors. Able to anticipate the needs of others.
Responsibilities: Greets patients, logs patients in using the EMR and directs them to the appropriate waiting area. Answers general information questions and ensures a smooth flow of all patients/visitors that enter the building. Accesses EMR. Verifies appointment time & dates. Communicates with clinical areas regarding patients without appointments. Enters new appointment in EMR as appropriate. Cross checks patients with lists to assure that patients who need to be registered are escorted to registrar booths. Performs scanning into EMR as assigned. Communicates with patients regarding wait times, delays, etc. as directed by clinical representatives. Observes waiting room activity to assure that patients are not waiting long, that patients and visitors are appropriate to setting. Signs for FedEx and UPS deliveries or redirect to proper location. Receive and distribute mail delivery. Collects drop-off specimens, and ensures accompanying paperwork is correct. Assures that specimens are delivered to lab. Communicates with clinical departments as necessary. Reports issues to appropriate area manager. Ensures adequate supply of pamphlets and brochures for the lobby. Assists in care and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Alerts supervisor to malfunction of equipment and/or call for maintenance/repair. Keeps lobby neat and orderly. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: One year customer service experience. A minimum of two years office experience. Minimum of two years office experience, physician office preferred. administrative coursework or must have excellent communication and public relations skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Demonstrate basic computer skills. Able to handle stressful situations.
Credentials:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Other Information: One year customer service experience. A minimum of two years office experience. Minimum of two years office experience, physician office preferred. administrative coursework or must have excellent communication and public relations skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Demonstrate basic computer skills. Able to handle stressful situations.
Starting at:USD $16.25/Hr.
