Overview: Provides physician extender services to patients onsite at Mercedes-Benz US International (MBUSI) in the Mercedes Medical clinic based on DCH Healthcare System policies and procedures in collaboration with the physician and MBUSI. Supervises clinical staff and coordinates patient flow and daily work processes. Supervises on-site DCH hourly staff. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with other team members and disciplines in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

Responsibilities: Provides diagnostic, assessment, and treatment services to MBUSI employees including performing pre-employment, annual, and workers' compensation injury treatment. Works in collaboration with other health care providers and collaborating/contractual physicians. Performs assessment, diagnosis, orders treatment, and documentation of minor injuries – including but not limited to the treatment of sprains/strains, application of splints/immobilizers, suturing/stapling lacerations, applying tissue adhesives, wound care, removal of sutures and staples, and patient education. Prescribing medications within the parameters of the collaborative agreement with the supervising physician. Orders diagnostic tests and treatments – Radiology, Laboratory, PT/OT, Neurodiagnostics. Receives laboratory and radiology reports and communicates results to the patient. Communicates with outside physicians and other treatment providers concerning treatment plans. Referral of patients for continued treatment to specialty physicians or ancillary services. Performs basic and/or advanced nursing tasks, including but not limited to PFT, Drug and Alcohol Screening, Audiogram, Lab Test, EKG, Vision Screening, administration of IM injections, administration, and interpretation of TB skin testing. Performs eye irrigation. Performs incision and drainage of abscesses. Removal of foreign bodies, ears, nose, eyes, and extremities. Teaches, supervises, and counsels patients and significant others regarding educational needs as appropriate to diagnosis. Serves as a resource for MBUSI healthcare staff. Maintains a safe, clean, and compliant work environment. Attends in-service programs, all mandatory required training/education, and unit/department/service meetings. Responsible for supervising all other clinic staff including the assignment of schedules and duties. Interviews, selects, hires, and retains employees. Ensures orientation and training for employees. Manages performance. Executes progressive discipline up to and including termination. Manages front-line operations of area of accountability related to meeting/exceeding departmental goals, 5 keys of excellence, DCH Mission and Vision. Qualifications: MSN Required. Appropriate CRNP certification is required. Two years of outpatient or ambulatory care experience preferred. ACLS certification is required - within 90 days of hire if not already certified. Computer skills required. Occupational Medicine experience preferred. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English. Identifies and reduces unsafe practices that may result in harm to patients, visitors, and employees. Recognizes and takes appropriate action to reduce risks and hazards to promote safety for patients, visitors, and employees. Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and intranet. Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures. All other duties as assigned.
