Six (6) Positions Available State Court Administrative Office - Child Welfare & Juvenile Justice Services JUVENILE JUSTICE COURT ANALYST II Salary: $68,889.60 - $89,606.40 The Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Services Division of the State Court Administrative Office (SCAO) is looking for qualified applicants for the position of Court Analyst II. The position requires critical analysis, working with various stakeholders, and excellent written and oral communication skills. The Analyst will develop and manage complex projects. The Analyst must be skilled at planning, problem-solving, analyzing situations, thinking creatively, and making decisions. The Analyst shall follow broadly defined policies, procedures, or instructions directed by management and use discretion in generally applying appropriate procedures. Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide consultation and assistance to courts on the implementation of juvenile justice policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state statutes, grants, regulations and policies, and Michigan Court Rules governing juvenile courts. Convene, facilitate, and participate on multi-disciplinary juvenile justice workgroups. Assist trial courts with juvenile justice data and quality assurance processes. Analyze proposed legislation and draft Court Rules. Review and assess the impact of legislation or court rules related to trial courts and determine procedures necessary to implement new requirements. Provide regular training and timely updates to juvenile courts on new laws and requirements, data standards, and business rules. Develop training curricula and serve as faculty for training, including the programs of the Michigan Judicial Institute, and non-MJI conferences and meetings. Attend meetings of judicial/court associations to discuss impact of proposal(s) on trial courts and possible implementation methods. Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding juvenile justice trial court practices, records management, and the interpretation of court policies, rules, and related statutes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION A bachelor's degree in judicial, public, or business administration or a related field is required. EXPERIENCE Five years of progressively more responsible work experience in trial courts or the juvenile justice field. Preference for candidates with experience facilitating workgroups.
A master's degree in court, public, or business administration or a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school may be substituted for two years of experience. KNOWLEDGE Understanding of juvenile justice delinquency court proceedings; Excellent research, writing, editing skills; Strong interpersonal and communication skills. ABILITY Manage multiple, complex projects; Communicate effectively with varied audiences, including judges, court staff, attorneys, juvenile justice professionals, and members of the public; Successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines; Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external constituents; Present to or train varied audiences; Plan, problem-solve, analyze complex situations, think creatively, and make decisions; Manage a wide degree of formal writing and media development assignments. WORK LOCATION: Official work-site location is the Hall of Justice, Lansing, Michigan. Remote work may be available in accordance with the MSC/SCAO Remote Work Policy.
