Counter Sales

Plumbers Supply Co, a family-owned business in operation for 103 years, has an immediate opportunity for a Counter Sales Associate to join our Evansville Branch Sales Team.
Schedule is Monday-Friday 1st Shift
The Counter Sales Associate will increase sales and customer satisfaction by efficiently and courteously assisting walk-in and telephone customers in the selection and acquisition of needed products by applying technical knowledge to satisfy customer needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure each customer has been greeted and acknowledged. Meet customer expectations by providing a friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and trusting environment. Work behind the counter taking customer orders or walk-ins and incoming sales efficiently and accurately. Pick, ship and consolidate all customer orders accurately and in the time frame required. Generate new & repeat sales by providing product & technical information regarding inventory stocked by Plumbers Supply Co. Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications. Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns. Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items and information regarding when product will arrive for non-stock items. Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed. Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures & customers' profitability profiles. Capturing of accurate and complete information in P-21 system for customer & operation satisfaction. Present a professional image to customers & vendors. Follow company policies & procedures. Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Minimum 2 years in similar position preferred Highly Motivated/Competitive - driven to excel Excellent verbal & written communication skills Ability to think quickly and learn quickly in a very fast-paced, self-directed customer service environment.
