As part of the VF Accounting team, this position is responsible for the monthly forecasts, annual budget, and the analysis & reporting of monthly operating results for the assigned Distribution Center(s). The Cost Accounting Analyst (Distribution) contributes to the achievement of financial objectives by providing timely and accurate accounting and financial analysis and information to facilitate sound business decisions. This role works closely with the Coalition Finance team and DC Leadership to monitor monthly results and provide analytical support to business partners to help deliver expected financial results.

How You Will Make a Difference
Lead the monthly forecast, annual budget, and the analysis & reporting of actual monthly operating results for the assigned Distribution Center(s). Partner with the DC Operations team to analyze results, provide variance explanations, and influences actions to improve results. Scope includes the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
Lead month-end close for assigned Distribution Center(s) and flow to the work as needed to achieve a timely and accurate close for the Coalition DC team. Close activities include preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis to maintain accurate DC performance financials and metrics consistent with Coalition reporting guidelines and in accordance with GAAP.
Supports special projects and ad hoc analysis and requests; plays a critical role in evaluating DC project financials and providing analytics to support recommendations. Projects include both capital and expense.
Contributes to standardization and continuous improvement efforts across the DC Finance & Accounting teams. Identifies and implements process improvements and activities to improve team's efficiency and effectiveness in delivering overall financial information and analytic support.
Advances professional and technical knowledge of self and DC team by attending educational workshops, establishing a diverse personal network, and providing financial acumen training to business partners. Ensures all control related standards and procedures are being followed.

Skills for Success
Years of Related Professional Experience: One year of related experience.
Educational Position Requirements: A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
CMA or CPA License Preferred; Public accounting experience a plus
Advanced Excel and PC skills; SAP experience preferred
Working knowledge of US GAAP
Knowledge of statutory accounting and legal entity structure
Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and time constraints
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills; ability to apply systems knowledge to troubleshoot and analyze new issues VF Guiding Principles: Live with Integrity, Act Courageously, Be Curious, Act with Empathy, and Persevere.
