Job Summary: Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for the position of Coordinator for Black Male Engagement. The Coordinator for Black Male Engagement is an integral member of the leadership team of the Office of Inclusion and Social Justice at Xavier University of Louisiana and serves as a public facing leader, liaison and subject matter expert on university-led, local and national initiatives that impact black and brown men and boys. They will support the ongoing work of the Office of Inclusion and Social Justice's efforts to cultivate community and retain current Black male students and alumni through, community engagement, culturally specific leadership development, advocacy, identity development and democratic engagement opportunities. The Coordinator will primarily be responsible for collaborating with campus partners to curate experiences, including programs, services, and other initiatives focused on retaining Black students who identify as men or masculine. The Coordinator reports to the Assistant Vice President of Students and Chief Inclusion Officer. AA/ EOE
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Two to five years of full-time progressive experience in knowledge and practice of student development theory, working in an educational setting, and program development. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability and skills in verbal and written communication, interpersonal relations, advising student organizations, event planning, interacting effectively with a diverse constituency of student, faculty, staff, and administrators, working effectively under pressure, technology and budget management. Expertise in public speaking, writing, group facilitation and computer skills.
