Position Summary The Alternative Credentials and Assessment Coordinator provides administrative support to the Director and Associate Director of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment in the areas of credit for prior learning, micro-credentialing, and program-level assessment at Portland State University (PSU). This includes serving as the primary contact for PSU academic programs with questions related to the Credit for Prior Learning process, Credit Predictor Pro, micro-credentialing process, maintaining data and record keeping, and event support for alternative credentials and program-level assessment at PSU. This work involves presence in the OAI office space, face-to-face interaction with supervisors, OAI staff, team members, and faculty, in addition to remote work as stipulated by the duties of the position and the PSU Remote Work Policy. This position reports to the Associate Director, Teaching, Learning, and Assessment.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Administrative Support
Provide administrative support to the Director and Associate Director of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment for the credit for prior learning and micro-credentialing efforts at Portland State University (PSU). This includes serving as the primary point of contact for academic programs on questions related to implementing the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) Credit Predictor Pro and the micro-credentialing process at PSU.
Recording Keeping and Maintenance
Organize and maintain new and existing data related to micro-credentialing,credit for prior learning, and program-level assessment within PSUs record-keeping systems(i.e., Canvas, Credit Predictor Pro, Google Drive).
Event and Program Coordination
Support the Director and Associate Director of Teaching, Learning, andAssessment in the event planning and coordination of faculty engagement and professionaldevelopment opportunities (i.e., activities, workshops, communities of practice, consultations)on topics related to alternative credentials and program-level assessment.
Minimum Qualifications from Classification Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR An Associate's degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology AND one year of general clerical experience.
Note:
College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position Required qualifications will vary by assignment but may include:
Significant clerical skills and experience; Excellent customer service skills and experience; Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, etc.; Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications BA/BS degree in higher education, adult learning, learning theory, assessment, orrelated field; Strong collaborative abilities and interpersonal skills; Demonstrated experience building and maintaining positive working relationships withfaculty; Demonstrated knowledge of the field of alternative credentials and assessment and itsrole in higher education; Demonstrated knowledge of Racial/Social Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI)pedagogy impacting teaching, learning, and educational development in post-secondarysettings; Proven ability to work well with diverse populations and across diverse organizational settings.

Work Days/Hours Monday - Friday, approximately 19.5 hours per week, schedule to be determined

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement The starting salary rate for this position will be between $16.19 and $18.12 per hour. This part-time temporary position is not eligible for benefits.

Work requires a frequent balancing of priorities and decision-making.

Typical office environment with computer terminals, printers, multi-line telephones, fax machines, copy machines, etc. Occasionally stoop, bend, lift, push, and carry items. Repetitive hand/wrist/arm movements on a computer keyboard. Sitting for long periods of time in front of a computer terminal. Mobility to attend meetings and activities which are scheduled campus-wide. Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to work in an open office environment with noise and other distractions.
