Responsibilities
• Review menus and inspect special diet trays• Complete administrative requirements and coordinate food service• Implement recommended changes and standardize work methods• Assume authority and responsibility of Cook• Prepare meals and serve food in accordance with procedures• Prepare food for therapeutic diets and special diet orders• Provide bedtime snacks and handle food substitutions• Assist in serving meals and preparing for special meals• Ensure food safety and follow sanitary regulations• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the department• Inventory and store food and supplies• Recommend equipment and supply needs
Requirements
• 1 year food experience preferred• Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities• Understanding of the English language• Knowledgeable of food procedures• Ability to maintain supplies and equipment• Willingness to seek out new methods and principles
