Follows standardized recipesPrepares foods that correspond to the menu cycles developed by registered dietitiansCooks or prepares appetizing, well-presented and nutritionally-adequate meals in quantities that are served at the proper temperatures and within the appropriate time framesUses food supplies and equipment in an efficient and economic manner to prevent wastePrepares and maintains food alternatives to accommodate guest choices and refusals of meals servedSupervises culinary staff with regard to food storage, food preparation, tray assembly and cleaningIn the absence of the chef and/or dietary manager, the cook supervises the culinary center's employeesEducation and/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred or approved exemption required (contact personal for details) One year of experience as a cook or dietary aide in an institutional food service setting preferred About Ciena Healthcare Ciena Healthcare is Michigan's largest provider of skilled nursing and rehabilitation care services.
