Controls Engineer (Automotive Manufacturing) Overview This position is responsible for all activities related to the implementation of new capital, tooling fixtures, continuous improvement, and maintenance. Tooling and capital will be implemented in, but not limited to the following areas: MIG, spot and resistance welding, assembly etc. Position may also be required to assist automation and secondary process departments with specific tooling programming needs
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Support the Company's mission, vision and values in performance of daily activities Maintain PLC based control systems for manufacturing, automation, and instrumentation Program PLC ladder logic from start to finish Lead projects and assist skilled trades in electrical disciplines Support operations in electrical/controls troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities Generate wiring schematics and control drawings with AutoCAD, maintain all plant electrical prints Work closely with engineering team to define system control needs Select industrial control components and assist with MRO crib Guide design, develop and test electrical control methods, materials, processes and results Train, coach, and mentor the electrical controls process for controls engineers, manufacturing and skilled trades colleagues Expectations Employees are expected to follow all standards listed below:

**Education and Experience **
To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience, or certifications are preferred:
** Education: **
Bachelor's degree in Engineering in a relevant field of study, required ** Experience: **
Five (5) or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment Three (3) or more years of experience in automation engineering, assembly or related field Stamping and Assembly manufacturing experience in the auto industry strongly preferred Five (5) or more years of experience working with all A-B Rockwell PLC/HMI family of products Five (5) or more years of experience working with FANUC ArcTool Five (5) or more years of experience working with FANUC SpotTool Five (5) or more years of experience working with Kuka KRC 4 controllers would preferable Three (3) or more years of experience working with WTC (RAFT) an DEPs Additional Skills Required: To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following skills are required:
** Computer skills ** : Applicant must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience in AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent design programs a plus ** Communication skills: **
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills (in English) are required Able to interact in a professional manner at all times with fellow employees or customers Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form ** Mathematical skills: **
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, measurements and proportions to practical situations ** Other Skills: **
Organized and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Must also be able to understand basic electrical schematics You should be proficient in:
PLC Troubleshooting Skills Electrical Schematics Industrial Robot Programming Troubleshooting Industrial Automation Equipment CAD Software PLC Programming Experience Bachelor's Degree Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Basic Computer Skills Continuous Improvement Electrical Troubleshooting Skills Engineering Degree Excellent Communication Skills Experience in a Manufacturing Environment High School / GED Lean Manufacturing Principles PLC Wiring Experience Machines & technologies you'll use:
