COMMUNITY OF THE TRANSFIGURATION, Cincinnati (Glendale), Ohio
The Community of the Transfiguration is a community of Episcopalian Sisters, headquartered on a beautiful 23-acre campus in Glendale. They sponsor four ministries: Bethany School (K - 8), St. Monica's Recreation Center, Food for the Soul food reclamation and meals' program and The Transfiguration Spirituality Center spiritual retreat program.
We are actively seeking a Controller, CPA who ideally has non-profit experience and brings both a strong financial background in addition to interpersonal strengths, carrying the values of servant leadership. This role will report directly to the Executive Director.
Job Summary: The Controller oversees all budgeting and accounting for the Society of the Transfiguration Convent and ministries.
Duties/Responsibilities: Oversees and manages the workflow of the department. Recruits and hires new staff as applicable, trains and develops in applicable software and processes. Ensures compliance with applicable laws. Works collaboratively with Bethany School finance and accounting departments. Establishes appropriate financial controls and procedures to manage SOT resources in a prudent manner. Maintains confidentiality and rights to privacy applicable to individual and institutional records. Plans, implements, and supervises SOT's annual budgets, in collaboration with applicable ministries and departments. Manages SOT's financial accounts, payrolls, budget, cash receipts, checking accounts, liability/property insurance and financial assets.Evaluates statements from SOT investment institutions. Oversees all transactions and cash flow forecasting. Provides independent accountants with needed information. Follows proper accounting procedures. Monitors and analyzes financial accounting data. Keeps abreast of accounting and financial best practices and utilizes proven up to date tools to automate processes. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficient in accounting software. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Excellent management and supervisory skills. Familiarity with property and liability insurance. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. Eight years or more of related experience required. Certified Public Accountant designation preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift fifteen pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities. Compensation & Benefits: Salary range: $95,000 - $104,000. Free Single Coverage Healthcare (HDP).
