A small Family Office in Central Arkansas specialized in Real Estate and Development is seeking a Controller for their organization. The Controller will report directly to the CEO and partner with the COO on company initiatives. They are seeking a financial partner that can help play a pivotal role in the financial management and strategic growth for multiple entities. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on the business trajectory and to contribute to shaping future success. The Controller position has the potential to evolve into a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role as the company continues to expand.
Duties would include but not limited to: Prepare monthly financial statements and P&L Statements Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks and Excel Sheets Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly Facilitate month end close Oversee Payroll functions that is outsourced to 3rd party company Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making Manage cash flow projections and ensure adequate liquidity Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance Provide recommendations to optimize resource allocation and improve financial efficiency Track budget variances and provide explanations and recommendations as needed Review and improve accounting policies and procedures as necessary Work with CPA Firm for tax work and some review Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals and initiatives Future Additional duties as company grows: Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance and scenarios Lead the budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with management Implement strategies to optimize cash flow and minimize financial risk Assist in developing long-term financial plans and strategies to support business growth Conduct financial analysis to evaluate potential investments and business opportunities Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth Qualifications: Bachelors in Accounting preferred, open to non-degree if has relevant experience 7+ years of Accounting experience, 2+ in a Controller or leadership role QuickBooks experience Real Estate/Development experience is a plus Strong Excel Skills Strong knowledge of GAAP Good analytical and problem-solving skills- candidate must be self-driven Company is offering a generous base salary with yearly increases, lucrative bonus opportunity, ample PTO, and good benefits.
