Job summary
CSU STRATA is seeking a Controller as a management staff member.The Controller is responsible for financial records, reporting, processes, and systems.The position performs a variety of accounting/financial analysis.
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Provide leadership for the accounting unit.• Review and approve financial transactions.• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.• Take lead on preparation of annual budgets.• Design and modify the accounting system.• Analyze and initiate accurate and complex journal entries.• Supervise accounts receivable and accounts payable.• Prepare audit schedules and assist with annual audit process.• Provide backup to accounting team.• Ensure work papers and processes are thoroughly documented.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in accounting or finance.• 5+ years professional accounting or finance experience.• 5+ years working with accounting software.• 3+ years of non-profit or university accounting.• Experience with bank reconciliations, fixed assets, and gifts.• Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.• Strong problem-solving skills and computer proficiency.• Excellent written communication skills.• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.• Knowledge of risk management and insurance underwriting.
