Controls Systems Engineer Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Control Systems Engineer with both systems development and software programming experience for a direct-hire position with our client, a manufacturer of test and repair equipment located in Bridgeton, MO. In this role you'll develop control systems for assembly, test equipment, and work cells used to automate their production.
Responsibilities: Design controls systems for assembly and test equipment needed to support internal production processes.
Develop code and programs for equipment controls and user interfaces using several different platforms (C, C++, PLC software)
Generate schematics and drawings for control systems.
Perform pneumatic assembly and electrical wiring.
Oversees equipment builds, qualifications, and implementations.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers at all manufacturing sites.
Investigate new technologies for manufacturing process needs.
DFMA analysis of both new and existing products
Provide technical advice and support for manufacturing and Engineering.
Assist in troubleshooting existing production equipment.
10-20% work travel required.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics or related degree
Prefer 5+ years controls systems engineering experience that should include:
Software development for industrial controls
Automated or robotic work cells – layout, selection of components/system
Project engineering/management experience – timeline, scheduling, estimation, etc.
Capital equipment procurement experience, a plus.
Strong knowledge/proficiency with:
Proficient with C, C++ for software development for industrial controls
PLC/HMI software development
Extensive knowledge of electronic parts and specifications.
Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Experience assisting or supporting new product introduction a plus
2D AutoCAD and schematic creation, required
Any experience with Creo, or other solid modeling software a plus
Powered holding and test equipment design experience a plus.
