Continuous Improvement Manager

Summary: The Senior Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible to lead critical projects which supports the execution of the long-term strategic plan, including initiatives to drive productivity and improve efficiency. This role will be the catalyst in building a lean management culture within our organization. The role will collaborate and network within the Voith organization to deliver the desired results and outcomes. This role will also be an active member of the Leadership Team.
To be successful in this role, the candidate needs to be a change agent, highly organized; have the ability to assess complex problems/situations and help facilitate and deliver effective solutions. The person must be outgoing/action oriented, hands on and have outstanding communication skills, including interpersonal and influencing skills.
Responsibilities: Promote and support a safe work environment, being a role model for a worldclass safety culture. This role will drive cultural change, ever increasing alignment around strategic objectives and efficiency of the organization by enabling empowered people. Contribute to developing people on change management competencies. Immediately integrate into the Objectives and Key Results (OKR's) Program including assuming responsibility from a NA perspective. Immediately assume responsibility of the Lessons Learned portion of our lean management initiatives; facilitate and lead problem solving and/or Kaizen events as needed to deliver process efficiency and productivity. Streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness. Develop and maintain documentation of process improvements, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and best practices to ensure consistency. Lead efforts to enhance the knowledge and competency within the organization around lean management. Engage and lead in other critical projects as needed to deliver high level impact to the organization. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience Experience in lean management, preferably a leadership role Certification in Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt preferred Experience and exposure in strategic planning and execution preferred Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including international travel Strong business acumen Proficient in Windows based programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook and process mapping software (e.g., MS Visio) Strong communication skills, verbal , and written. Paper industry experience preferred but not required. Great written and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization Passion about changes and ability to successfully lead cross-functional teams and driving change initiatives Physical Requirements: Employees in this position are regularly required to walk, stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel. They are frequently required to reach with hands and arms. They are occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear and regularly required to lift 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds. Safety glasses, hearing protection and other PPE are required in designated areas.
