Content Writer Location Mount Laurel, NJ : Description The Content Writer will produce engaging content to be distributed through the college's media channels including social media, website, external and internal announcements, newsletters, advertising, and publications. The Content Writer will work closely with the Strategic Marketing and Communications team to inform the community about the college and the success of its students.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities Writes and publishes content for social media, website, external and internal announcements, news releases, articles, newsletters, advertising and publications. Topics may be assigned or self-developed in conjunction with supervisors. Coordinates distribution and publication of internal and external communications. Assists in editing and proofreading content, and supporting all Strategic Marketing and Communications initiatives as necessary. Maintains the college's calendar on its website and develops way to keep the community informed of events. Reviews and maintains web content to ensure it is accurate and up-to-date. Attends events as requested for coverage and/or to represents the department. Other duties as assigned. OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY: The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community. Minimum Qualifications Education Required: Required: Associate degree in communications, marketing or closely related discipline, with intent to complete a bachelor's degree in a related discipline. Preferred: Bachelor's degree. Experience Required: One to two years of journalism communications, marketing, social media and/or communications, including internships. Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Able to write quickly, clearly with appropriate tone, voice and message. Proficient with a variety social media platforms and software applications. A sense of news judgement for both internal and external customers. A team player who is able to be flexible to meet many deadlines under constantly-changing conditions. Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy, and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with customers, both internal and external. Additional Information INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS: Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
