Join a group of passionate and creative individuals whose efforts will promptly make a difference by providing solutions that safeguard people, property, and the environment within the communities we serve and beyond!
In this position, you will take on a leadership role, steering the expansion of our CMI team and business. Your responsibilities will include managing client relationships, fostering sales growth, and overseeing the financial performance of the business unit. This position may be based out of our Louisville or Denver, CO office. What you'll do: Provide managerial guidance on a regional level, inspiring the team to ensure that the firm's vision and mission are achieved by setting appropriate milestones and benchmarks. Act as Project Manager and Project Engineer (PE) on projects, as required, while the CMI business unit grows. Prepare technical approaches/scope, schedule, and budgets for proposals. Monitor CMI key performance indicators monthly including revenue, profit, accounts receivable, utilization, backlog, and project variances and write-offs. Partner with Pursuit Managers and Marketing Managers to prepare winning professional proposals and participate in interview preparation and go/no-go decision meetings. Engage actively in business development, emphasizing expertise in identifying, pursuing, and securing new opportunities for growth. Collaborate with the Regional Manager to oversee practice area personnel in accordance with Otak's policies and procedures. This includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving issues. Participate actively in fieldwork, gradually reducing your involvement percentage as the CMI group expands with additional staff. What you bring: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, (or equivalency in direct field of experience) or related area. Active Professional Engineering License in Colorado; having licenses in Oregon and Washington is preferred but not required. 10+ years of experience in a variety of construction projects (e.g. roadways, highways, trails, bridges, utilities, etc.). 15+ years of progressive experience in the management of personnel, project budgets, and team financials. Demonstrated leadership skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with various teams throughout the organization. Extensive experience as a construction manager with knowledge of material properties, CDOT specifications and contract administration practices preferred. A customer-oriented seller-doer who understands how to sell Otak's services, grow our business and deliver high quality work. Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
