PURPOSE STATEMENT: The  Compliance Manager is responsible for the support, execution, and continuous improvement of Acadia's Compliance Program. Operating with high quality and integrity, the Compliance Manager will manage various compliance applications (e.g., EthicsPoint, PolicyStat), and will assist the VP Compliance and Chief Compliance Officer with reports and data requests and will assist with conducting compliance investigations and provide solutions to address identified risks and issues. The Compliance Manager will work collaboratively across all Acadia service lines and corporate departments to support the implementation of best practices to proactively mitigate risks. The position assists with efforts to provide direction to operations teams and clinical providers in maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, rules, company policies, and best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manages policies and procedures for Acadia, including assisting with maintenance and management of the electronic policy management system (PolicyStat). Manages EthicsPoint (Compliance Hotline), ensuring cases are assigned correctly and investigated timely. Provides weekly status reports to Quality, Operations, and HR teams. Develops and maintains quarterly metrics reports on all Compliance Hotline calls and reports. Manages Compliance Dashboard within PowerBI and works with PowerBI team to ensure accurate data is reported. Assists with investigations into alleged violations of laws, regulations, rules, policies, and Code of Conduct, as well as investigation and resolution of Compliance Hotline calls/reports and other matters reported, as needed . Assists with maintenance of processes for ensuring all employees and contractors are not excluded from federal healthcare programs, including assisting with managing the ProviderTrust and VendorProof systems. Assists with proper facility reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required. Assists VP Compliance and Chief Compliance Officer with performing periodic Compliance Risk Assessments. Assists VP Compliance and Chief Compliance Officer with maintaining, reporting, and documenting all required elements of Corporate Integrity Agreement, specifically the Annual Report to the OIG. Assists with creating and overseeing Compliance training and education activities of the Department. Assists Director of Compliance Auditing and Monitoring with auditing and monitoring activities of the Compliance Department, as needed. Assists VP Compliance and Chief Compliance Officer with investigation and resolution of matters reported regarding privacy of patient data, including HIPAA, HITECH, 42 CFR Part 2, and other privacy laws and regulations. Assists with management of online privacy reporting system (RadarFirst). STANDARD EXPECTATIONS: Complies with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintains organizational and industry policies regarding confidentiality. Communicates clearly and effectively to other employees and vendors, and possibly clients. Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintains them over time. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in humanities, law, business administration, or another relevant field. A minimum of 3 years' experience as a compliance analyst, compliance manager, risk manager, or similar position. Compliance certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification within one (1) year. Strong knowledge of industry processes and regulations. Previous work in healthcare industry. Previous work in psychiatric and/or addiction treatment settings preferred. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Certified in Healthcare Compliance by HCCA or SCCE preferred.
