JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Human Resources, the Compensation Analyst carries out professional level compensation functions and assists in the management of the City of Greeley's Classification and Compensation plans. The incumbent in this position will conduct salary analyses and reviews, oversee the interim and acting pay request process, provide assistance on various compensation projects, maintain classification data and history files and will perform related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS: (include Education, Certifications, Licenses & Equipment Skills) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources or a closely related field Four (4) years of full-time professional level experience in classification and compensation or a closely related human resources function. OR
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job. AND
Possession of a valid driver's license.

PREFERRED: Master's degree in from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources or a closely related field. Approximately 10% travel is required ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Duties & Responsibilities): Develops and finalizes new and revised job classification specifications; conducts background research, classification and salary surveys, job analyses, and related analytical work to inform process; coordinates and tracks pending requests to ensure timely completion; may participate in meet and confer process with unions. Manages temporary backfill and upgrade request process for assigned departments. Ensures compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay Act and regulations. Coordinates requests with other functions – including Payroll, Benefits and Wellness, IT, Budget & Finance– as needed. Participates in processing mass salary increases, including market rate increases, merit increases, and cost-of-living adjustments, for all employee groups. Performs a wide-range of calculations to validate the accuracy of mass salary increases and identify any needed updates to employee records. Reviews and processes special pay requests and manages all subsequent updates. Reviews and analyzes proposed starting salaries and makes approval recommendations to senior Classification and Compensation staff. Responds to inquiries from employees and the public in a timely and courteous manner; responds to classification and salary survey requests from other employers and outside organizations. Conducts compensation and benefit surveys. Collects and analyzes data and may prepare written recommendations. May assist with costing labor grievance settlement payments and proposals arising from negotiations with unions. Stays abreast of trends, legislation and innovations in the human resources field. Performs related duties, as assigned. Evaluates the organizations jobs, documenting responsibilities and requirements in job descriptions. Contributes organizational data to, and analyzes results of, compensation surveys. Conducts market analysis of company jobs to determine competitive positioning of the organizations pay programs. Participates in annual salary administration programs, including salary structure creation and maintenance and development of incentive or salary increase budgets. Participates in administration of annual performance management, incentive, or salary increase programs. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. The City of Greeley has established a formal telework policy that allows eligible positions, in coordination with their Departments' management team, an opportunity to incorporate a component of remote work into their working schedule. This position is eligible to work remote within the state of Colorado under the City's telework policy. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Vision enough to read computer keyboards, reference books and other written documents. Communication skills sufficient to convey information to the public via telephone and in person. Manual dexterity sufficient to accurately input, retrieve and verify work assignments.
