Drug Free Workplace The Community Outreach & Education Specialist (COES) will be working with stakeholders, community-based organizations, faith-based groups, school personnel, healthcare professionals, and service providers, as well as employers and potential sponsors. They will be an integral part of a statewide team. They will be responsible for community outreach and awareness activities, in-person and virtual trainings, as well as recruitment of volunteers, potential community partners, and donors. Salary commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities: Conduct presentations and training on seizure first aid and epilepsy awareness through community outreach events, at schools, doctor offices, and professional conferences. Input data entry into the database. Assist with coordination of agency and department activities. Keep supervisor apprised of incoming requests or issues. Assist in volunteer management activities and schedules. Participate in all organizational development activities. Consistently treat colleagues and customers/donors/board members with dignity and respect; reflect professionalism and cooperative spirit. Organize tasks efficiently, maintain focus and stay productive. Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of Epilepsy Alliance Florida services. Abide by all EAFLA and state policies, procedures, and mandates. Must be willing to travel, have a valid driver's license, and insured vehicle. Must be able to carry 25 pounds. Positively represent the agency. Responsible for completing all other tasks related to this position as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications: Associate Degree Experience in community education, health education, public speaking, and/or advocacy is a plus. Reliable transportation Must be able to work independently and be available for some nights and weekends. Salary Range: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour, based on experience.
