Position Highlights The Community Outreach Assistant II position will work with their supervisor and co-workers to meet the goals and objectives of the SNAP-Ed program in Pinal County.
This position will develop and implement programs to provide support in the fields of Policy, Systems, and Environment (PSE) by providing & sharing Direct Education materials and resources in food systems (gardening, food preservation) and food banks through the use of approved AZ Health Zone curricula and resources.
This position will assist the team in the overall program activities serving preschool youth, adults, and seniors in all site-types under MOA (Memorandum of Agreement) throughout Pinal County.
This position will be responsible for assisting with PSE and Direct Education efforts, including planning, implementing, and evaluating activities.

Duties & Responsibilities Interact with SNAP eligible participants (families, youth, adults, and seniors) through workshops, training sessions, and community events in accordance with established goals and objectives primarily online and some in-person in the subject matter of nutrition, gardening, physical activity. Utilizes social media platforms effectively to enhance program efforts. Creates promotional marketing tools to enhance policy, systems, and environmental change efforts. Composes notices, prepares and completes reports and fulfills other related functions to conduct assigned nutrition education programs for Pinal County communities. Maintain complete and accurate program records to be submitted monthly; assists with quarterly and annual reports for the program. Assists in the overall PSE & Direct Education efforts: data gathering activities, transporting materials and incentives, preparing assignments/curriculum/materials, community engagement outreach, etc. Building and maintaining collaborations with community organizations. Work is performed under minimal supervision with assigned general expectations. Judgment is used to determine best approach and achieve maximum results. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience Preferred Qualifications Vocational, Associates or Bachelors Degree with 1+ years work experience in the field of study of nutrition &/or education.
