Communications Specialist

COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
Develop compelling copy for communications, editorials, advertising, social media, leadership remarks, emergency communications and more.
Creates messaging through research across various audiences and can adapt to several communication platforms.
Supports modern digital presence by managing, writing, and deploying organic and paid content for social media, including overseeing social media interactions with the public and partner organizations.
Analyzes and reports social media performance metrics, identifying trends and making recommendations to strengthen digital presence.
Obtains content for writing assignments through consistent interaction with staff and lay leaders as well as partner agencies, and other constituencies.
Work closely with the Director, institutional Marketing on development of content for key annual publications.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advanced education, or related fields.
3 + years of experience writing sales / marketing for non-profit, marketing agency, or working as a copywriter in a dynamic product or service marketing organization or relevant education experience.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills; editing and proofreading are required.
proficient with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and TEAMS required.
Strong knowledge of AP writing-style.
Strong experience with social media strategy and content management.
Ability to blend technical writing skills with a conversational tone.
Ability to work in a fasted-paced, and team-oriented environment while comfortable to working independently as needed.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operate effectively in a culture of rapid change.
