Requisition Summary
Negotiate and manage all aspects of PACCAR's relationship with suppliers, including the commercial/contractual requirements with respect to total cost, technology, quality, delivery, customer service, aftermarket support, and logistics. Commodity Managers are change agents, focused on delivering the highest value to internal and external customers at the lowest total cost.
Job Functions / Responsibilities  Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance and enhanced product quality. Investigate, evaluate, and implement new technologies, strategic procurement strategies and logistical opportunities. Negotiate and assure supplier compliance to long-term supply and warranty agreements.  Issue formal Requests for Information, Proposals and Quotes (RFI's, RFP's, and RFQ's) and analyze responses to make sound commercial judgments and sourcing recommendations  Collaborate with PACCAR operations worldwide to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and commodity strategies.  Communicate and conduct meetings and formal presentations with suppliers, plant, and division personnel at all management levels. Travel to supplier locations to evaluate capabilities, assess production readiness, investigate new opportunities, improve manufacturing efficiencies and resolve chronic supply and quality issues. Travel to PACCAR's operating locations in support of the above activities. Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 3 years of sourcing, engineering, logistics or related experience Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form to various levels of management and suppliers Possess an understanding of cost drivers and how changes in those drivers affect cost Ability to perform market research to identify and evaluate potential new suppliers Ability to negotiate favorable terms Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities as well as PC skills (Word, Access & PowerPoint) Understanding of aluminum, steel, and plastic parts production processes a plus Project Team participation and/or Project Management experience a plus Experience with part purchasing, design, manufacturing, supply chain management and/or commercial truck or automotive experience a plus Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field required.? Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
