Commercialization Scientist

COMMERCIALIZATION SCIENTISTSUMMARY:The Commercialization Scientist is a liaison between R&D Development Scientists, Quality Control, and Production. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing, quality assurance requirements and formulation basics. This person will be responsible for supporting all production departments throughout the commercialization of new products. This requires attending production planning meetings, reviewing schedules to identify new product runs and communicating among departments the requirements to properly commercialized new products. Communication and collaborative work will be vital in this role.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAttend production runs throughout commercialization processAttend production meetings and pre-op meetingsExhibit strong understanding of manufacturing practices and be able to endure up to 8 ours working in a physical settingReview daily orders for items needing controls and log request and receiptCommunicate between departments any updates needed to formulas, manufacturing instructions and/or specificationsAssist with routine specification reviewsMaintain centralized document portal for populating essential information on new productsAssist with inter-departmental training as it relates to production and qualityPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:* Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or other related fields. Previous food centric industry experience preferred. Proficient in Excel and Word. Must have good communication and organizational skills.
