Changing the world of pet food for goodWe're tails.com, a dog food subscription company with a big difference. We create truly tailored food for each and every dog we serve. We start by asking people a few simple questions about their dog. Then we use that information to create their dog's unique tails.com recipe – so their dog gets exactly the nutrition they need, in the taste they love, delivered to their door every month. Here's how you'll make a difference: The roleReporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, the Commercial Finance Analyst will have a wide lens across key areas in our P&L. From customer connected metrics (e.g., discounts, refunds, order frequency, etc.) to business growth areas (i.e., retail and our online shop) all the way through the P&L to our opex.
This role offers stability in an extremely friendly working environment. As part of a small, close-knit finance team in a growth company, there will be plenty of room for development.
You will be responsible for:Providing our retail and extended online offering (tails.com shop) teams with reporting, ad hoc analysis, and scenario modelling
Building clear and insightful reporting on the trends and drivers impacting performance across various subscription metrics (e.g., discounts, refunds, orders per customer, etc.)
Working closely with the finance team to ensure a robust opex forecast is managed carefully, understanding drivers of variance and updating on opportunities and risks
Managing reporting workbooks used for group reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Month end reporting - working collaboratively with the Commercial Finance team to update our modelling tools with actuals and review forecast year to go across metrics
The skills you'll bring:Numerate with an analytical / logical mindset - ability to use data and numbers to tell a story
Great communicator and strong collaboration skills - ideally with a proven ability to deliver strong, clear guidance and provide context to different team members (both verbal and written comms)
Attention to detail - the ability to catch mistakes and inconsistencies, in both the work you produce and the data you analyse
Nice-to-have Understanding of finance, e.g., forecasting, P&L management, analysis and strategic decision-making, etc.
