Collections & Billing Coordinator, Student Account Services Location Maryville, MO : PRIMARY DUTY: This position is responsible for the collection and billing of University accounts and the Online Professional Program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manage and monitor delinquent student accounts to include assessing payment history while negotiating options with students, parents and responsible parties. Perform appropriate collection activity by phone, mail, e-mail and in person while providing quality and engaged customer service to all University stakeholders. Prepare specialized account receivable reports to monitor delinquent accounts. Manage Online Professional and Northwest Accelerated Programs billing process, as well as third party programs including AmeriCorps and Mississippi Gulf Coast Research Lab Program. Reconcile Academic Partnership invoices at each census date for Online Professional courses. Oversee all Online Professional account procedures including student communication and drop for non-payment. Work in conjunction with the Assistant Director to oversee the Perkins Loan Program, including the assignment and/or liquidation of accounts to the Department of Education. Manage University fee waivers on employee, dependent and graduate assistant student accounts. Process debt offset to delinquent accounts with the Missouri Department of Revenue. Assist with merchant account reconciliations. Process accounts receivable refunds. Assist with the reconciliation of collection accounts and bankruptcy. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: Expertise in billing, collections, customer service and dealing with difficult situations Skills: Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills; cooperative; ability to positively interact with others; ability to prioritize and consistently meet assigned deadlines; ability to work independently; ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism; detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy; proficient in MS Office software applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook. WORKING CONDITIONS: This position will work in an air-conditioned office with the normal hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch break, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required dependent upon project deadlines.
