Kelly Services is now hiring for Kennametal in Traverse City for a CNC machine Operator
3rd shift 10:30pm-6am Train on 1st shift for 4-6 weeks $20.00 contract to Hire! Summary The Machine Operator performs essential job functions within the manufacturing department. This position is responsible for ensuring continuous product flow. This position is also involved in new product development. Duties Set-up and operate machines of a similar type (conventional or CNC) on a regular basis (includes tooling changes and programming CNC controls)
Preventive maintenance of machinery
Work on a variety of complex parts to close tolerances with average to complicated set-ups
Work with minimal support or supervision
Select appropriate feeds, speeds & tooling
Assist in problem-solving and troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns and production efficiency issues
Assures appropriate material and tools are available
Support Lean Enterprise, Quality, Safety & Productivity initiatives through appropriate levels of participation
Experience REQUIRED: High School Diploma OR GED
Must obtain knowledge of the general Health & Safety procedures of Kennametal Inc.
Good communication skills
Must be mechanically inclined and able to demonstrate strong mathematical skills
PREFERRED: 3-5 years' experience in the manufacturing environment is preferred
Machine operation experience
Technical school certification or Apprenticeship program of completion
Ability to work in a team environment
