Responsibilities
• Perform fundamental nursing tasks and procedures• Primarily performing personal care and restorative procedures• Assisting residents to gain more independence in self performance of activities
Requirements
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent• Must hold a certificate documenting successful completion of nurse aide training course approved by the Illinois Board of Educators• Must be listed on the registry in the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation, or be eligible to be listed
Key Skills Needed
• Ability to comply with HIPPA guidelines and regulations• Ability to maintain a close working relationship with the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Administrator, Medical Director, and other healthcare professionals• Ability to demonstrate patience, understanding, and tact in interactions with residents, families, and staff• Ability to mentally cope with challenging situations and emergencies• Ability to read, follow written and verbal communication• Ability to problem-solve and accurately interpret instructions• Good human relations and communication skills• Ability to learn technical material and equipment• Ability to enter and obtain information from a computer• Ability to read and follow established policies, procedures, and standards of practice• Organizational skills and flexibility to coordinate job responsibilities
