Position Summary/Description: Flexible work arrangements, including virtual/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine's Working Forward initiative. As such, this position's work location is designated as hybrid. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit's business needs. This position provides direct benefit to School of Medicine faculty in teaching roles and to students in courses within the Clinical Phases of the MD program. The individual in this role consults with faculty on the implementation of educational technology in the new clinical phases curriculum and works directly with students to ensure that they are able to participate fully in the technology-dependent elements of the new curriculum. The individual in this role will be responsible for understanding the educational design of the TEC 2.0 curriculum and the critical ways that technologies are leveraged as teaching and learning tools within it, with a particular emphasis on the competency-based assessment structure and associated technologies. Across the two years of Application and Individualization Phase, students will participate in hundreds of direct observation experiences with preceptors across the state. The individual in this role will be responsible for ensuring that assessment data from these interactions is collected, collated, processed, and displayed to both students and faculty with accuracy. The individual in this role must develop and maintain close working relationships with faculty, students, and the clinical phases teams. As the new clinical phases curriculum is implemented, the individual in this role will be responsible for the development of new assessment strategies and use of new educational technologies in support of the ongoing improvement of the TEC 2.0 curriculum and student success in the MD program.
Education and Experience: Experience with Canvas or other similar learning management systems, Poll Everywhere, and other educational technology is ideal.
