POSITION SUMMARY The Clinical Intern Supervisor is responsible for oversight for services provided by all Interns in the Clinical department, including the selection, training, and supervision of Interns. Collaborates with Hoyleton Dept. of Philanthropy and universities to cultivate and maintain positive working relationships and a steady flow of interns to the agency. The clinical intern supervisor will be responsible for the full success of the services in which they supervise. Assures compliance with Medicaid rules and all regulations under which the services and agency are provided under. As a member of the Leadership Team assists with the development of the program budget, organizational policy, and other administrative initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES In coordination with Clinical Director, interviews, selects, trains, and supervises Interns for HYFS Clinical programs. Monitors interns' performance and completes monthly and school evaluations as required by school/program. Works to resolve any performance issues or concerns. Works closely with the Dept. of Philanthropy and applicable universities to recruit interns and ensure that the Clinical Dept. has a sufficient number of qualified interns each academic semester. In coordination with the Clinical Leadership team, recruits qualified interns to fill permanent positions within Hoyleton. Provides oversight to client referrals, intake, and admissions, assuring timely response to referral sources. Maintains positive relationships and open communication with referring agencies and others with whom the agency collaborates on behalf of clients. Resolves concerns involving admissions, treatment plans, and behavior management with the referring agency and the resident's parent or guardian. Participates in discharge decisions in order to assure appropriate planning, information sharing, and the best interest of the resident. Oversees recordkeeping and reporting processes to ensure that flow of written communication is current and effective. Provides leadership to the Utilization Review committee to ensure that the process is completed and that results are used to improve the quality of services. Assures that the Medicaid component of programs is fulfilled to maintain the Medicaid standards; is up to date on contractual requirements and assures compliance. Works to achieve performance goals of all contracts/grants and payer sources. Participates in all required committees assigned by Clinical Director including but not limited to monthly clinical staffings and leadership meetings. Ensure clinical needs of clients are met and develop the clinical department to ensure interns have a variety of clinical skills and applicable treatment modalities are reflected (i.e., behavior analysis, expressive art therapies, etc.). Continuously monitors the clinical needs of current clients and other programs and develops innovative approaches to meeting those needs. Monitors direct service requirements of interns to ensure targets are being met. Adheres to and follows all other required duties necessary and assigned by direct supervisor. SKILLS and ABILITIES Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Skills in making public presentations, and in conducting formal training internally and externally. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE A Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program, or in a related human service field. Must possess and maintain a License of Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). A minimum of five years of experience in the human services field is required. Possess the experience, personal qualities, and practice skills to work effectively with professionals from a variety of disciplines both internally and with other organizations. Must be at least 21 years of age Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license Must possess and maintain proof of automobile insurance CARE & TCI One of the essential job functions of any position within the agency is to align your performance with our overarching philosophy of CARE. All decisions, actions, communication, and performance should align with the six CARE principles (Developmentally Focused, Family Involved, Relationship-Based, Ecologically Oriented, Competence Centered, and Trauma-Informed). Not only must you complete the CARE training with satisfactory participation, but you must then put that training into practice in your everyday work.
Every employee must also pass TCI training with a satisfactory grade in written and/or physical testing. All employees must remain current on refresher training that is provided monthly at all locations. You will be tested every 6 months on the physical portion, if applicable to your position. You will be tested annually on the written portion regardless of your position. If you are not current on your TCI refresher training every six months, you will be required to retake the full course. If you do not pass either test, you may be required to retake the full course. Not only must you complete the TCI training with satisfactory participation, but you must then put that training into practice in your everyday work.
