Responsibilities
• Creates an educational environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and needs of the students; prepares instructional materials for classes assigned• Establishes a standard of classroom behavior and maintains classroom management• Assesses student accomplishments and provides progress reports to parents/guardians• Plans curriculum and prepares lessons to meet individual student needs• Confers with parents, administrators, specialists, and appropriate resource staff• Creates learning materials geared to students' abilities and interests• Instructs students using educational strategies and techniques• Motivates students and provides continuous assessment and feedback• Maintains accurate records as required by law and regulations• Assists administration in implementing policies and rules• Sponsors student activities/clubs/teams/organizations and tutors students• Performs other related duties as assigned or directed
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree and endorsement in the grade/subject taught with a valid Tennessee certificate• Physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position• Proof of education, training, and/or experience required
