Position Title: Classified - IT Support Technician

Reports to: Director of IT

Date Available: Immediately

Work Agreement: 260 days; 8 hours per day

Hourly Pay: Starts at $23.15 and is based on related experience

Crete Public Schools is seeking applications for an Information Technology Support Technician to begin immediately. This is a full-time position.Benefits include full family health insurance, public employees retirement, long-term disability insurance, and sick and personal leave. This position is open until filled.

Essential Requirements:

Associate's degree or relevant experience required
Satisfactory completion of criminal background check
Operational skills for PC and Apple computers
Poised
Supervise a variety of tasks at the same time
Good oral and written skills
Job Tasks: Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.
Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.
Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.
Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software.
Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
With consent, upon request of the superintendent, accept other responsibilities that are not now identified but that seem to relate to the general delegation statement.
Essential Functions:

(2) the ability to perform the identified tasks and to possess and utilize the identified knowledge, skills, and abilities and to perform the identified work activities; and

(3) the ability to perform the physical requirements on their specific job description.

Other Responsibilities:
Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Supervisor.
At-Will Position: This position is an "at-will" position and may be terminated, with or without cause, at any time in the sole discretion of the Superintendent or Superintendent's designee.
