Role Summary: As CFO, you will ensure the financial health and operational efficiency of the district, aligning financial strategies with our educational objectives and overseeing comprehensive fiscal management. This executive role reports directly to the Superintendent and requires a proactive approach to financial planning, operational accountability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership in financial planning and policy formulation, ensuring alignment with the district's goals. Operational Management: Oversee all financial aspects including budgeting, cash and debt management, payroll, and purchasing. Compliance and Ethics: Ensure all financial operations adhere to legal standards and ethical practices. Collaboration: Work closely with the Board and district leadership to foster strategic partnerships and drive educational initiatives. Program Oversight: Manage staffing, programming, and emergency protocols effectively, maintaining high standards and compliance. Ideal Candidate Qualities: Innovative and Strategic Thinker: Ability to champion strategies that enhance educational outcomes. Ethical Leadership: Uphold integrity and transparency in all financial dealings. Community Focused: Engage actively with local and broader educational communities. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field. Certifications: CPA designation preferred. Experience: Minimum of five years in financial management and leadership, ideally within an educational or public sector environment. Preferred experience with unions and collective bargaining agreements. Skills: Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
