The Platform Chief CRNA will provide direct patient care in addition to managing new initiatives,
collaborate with facility Lead CRNAs on operational efficiencies, act as a liaison to USAP-TN business
partners. The Platform Chief CRNA behaves in alignment with the values of the organization, leads by

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities of the position, in addition to direct patient care, include but are not limited to:
• Rotate and provide clinical care to all hospital locations within the platform to assist Lead CRNAs
with new initiatives and provide support
• Support and mentor Lead CRNAs across the platform
• Coordinate with Lead CRNAs on platform wide initiatives (e.g., Medaxion, Pyxis roll-out, narcotic
discrepancies, etc.)
• Lead the local CAC meetings, develops agenda for meeting and ensures CAC follows governing
charter
• Attend NCAC meetings quarterly, USAP-TN CGB meetings monthly, conferences as required for business needs, departmental meetings (Operations, Quality, Recruitment, HR, etc.) as needed to
support the platform
• Work with Lead CRNAs to help identify staffing and schedule efficiencies including
implementation of pattern changes, adjustments to shifts, and more
• Work with Lead CRNAs and operations to determine vacation requirements per shop
• Promote and ensure consistency of policies and procedures among CRNAs in all facilities
• Partner with operations, human resources, and physician leadership in managing positive
employee relations as well as disciplinary action as necessary
• Partner with operations, human resources, and recruitment in the CRNA recruitment and
selection process
• Provide new CRNA progress updates to operations and HR at minimum quarterly
• Plan and coordinate regular clinical/educational in-services
• Lead the relationship with SRNA Programs to include meeting with Anesthesia Program Directors
and program instructors yearly, partner with MTSA for education facility use and classroom
instruction as needed, and work with USAP on up-to-date contracts for each school and facility
• Lead the SRNA Program for USAP-TN including, but not limited to, determining the number of
students for each facility, maintaining contact with students that are fulfilling all requirements
with AMG facilities, approving and assigning all senior electives for students, communicating
with facility leads and facility preceptor on student issues when contacting schools
• Provide guidance and serve as liaison with nurse anesthesia students and their institutions
• Identify and resolve logistical, functional, and clinical problems in conjunction with the site Chief
Anesthesiologist and the site Lead CRNA
• Work collaboratively with Chief Anesthesiologist at each facility to ensure a collegial and
supportive work environment

• Must be willing and able to perform the duties associated with the position to include direct
patient care. The expectations are that this individual will go above and beyond to enhance
patient safety, create a positive work atmosphere for CRNAs, ensure adequate and efficient
staffing, and demonstrate excellence to USAP Tennessee customers.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Holds current active state licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the state of
Tennessee or willing to obtain upon acceptance of position and complies with any applicable
state statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation
of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor.
• Currently recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse
Anesthetists.
• Minimum of five years experience as a CRNA.
• Minimum of two years in a similar leadership role.
• Credentialing- Platform Chief CRNA will be required to obtain clinical privileges at facilities as
requested by operations.
Work Structure
• Time –Platform Chief CRNA will perform clinical duties approximately 60-80% of the time and
non-clinical duties approximately 20-40% of the time. Clinical time is expected to start in the
morning and cover first starts. Non-clinical time should be planned to start in the afternoon. This
schedule is subject to change.
• Full-Time/40 hours
