Chief Administrative Officer (ADMIN MGR 1) Location Hybrid remote in Sacramento, CA : Job Summary Public Affairs and Marketing (PAM) provides leadership, support, and coordination in promoting and protecting the UC Davis Health System's brand by telling the story of the organization through marketing/advertising, digital/social media, media relations, internal communications and other vehicles and mechanisms to reach all audiences and stakeholders.
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Public Affairs and Marketing and functions with high degree of autonomy. Directs and manages the functional areas and staff for general administration, finance, human resources, and space and equipment. Directly supervises approximately 2 employees.
Apply By Date 1/21/2024; Interviews and recruiting process may occur at any time Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Health or related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Ten or more years of relevant management experience Extensive knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; with a focus on budget, forecast, and expense management Extensive knowledge of human resources programs and personnel management under labor contracts and complex personnel policies Demonstrated success in complex project management, organizational time management, and risk management practices Through knowledge of applicable state and federal laws regarding human resources, accounting, and other related policies or laws, with ability to comply and enforce related campus and health system policies Extensive knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; with a focus on budget, forecast, and expense management Extensive knowledge of human resources programs and personnel management under labor contracts and complex personnel policies Demonstrated success in complex project management, organizational time management, and risk management practice Through knowledge of applicable state and federal laws regarding human resources, accounting, and other related policies or laws. Ability to comply and enforce related campus and health system policies Excellent skills in managing staff including recruitment, selection, training, evaluating, coaching, and performance management including progressive discipline Proven ability to effectively lead and manage diverse teams of individuals Excellent problem recognition, avoidance and resolutions skills Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Health or related field Experience in an academic health system or large multi-dimensional hospital organization Thorough knowledge of university policies Department Description The Department of Public Affairs and Marketing plans, manages, and implements strategic communications (such as news services, public relations, marketing, internal and external communications) for UC Davis Health. Communications are aimed at a wide range of key constituencies, such as the news media, UC administration, UC Davis faculty, staff and students, government/regulatory leaders, external physicians, business leaders, patients and health care consumers, and the general public.
