Responsibilities
• Serving as a bilingual classroom teacher• Assisting in the development of curriculum for bilingual and ESL instruction• Providing classroom instruction to students in bilingual classrooms• Providing additional support and leadership to the bilingual and ESL education programs• Instructing students individually and in groups using various teaching methods• Adapting teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests• Establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicating those objectives to students• Establishing rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students• Meeting with parents/guardians to discuss student's progress and determine priorities• Native like fluency in Spanish and English
Requirements
• Three Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) teaching licenses in Regular Education, Bilingual Education, and ESL• Active or issued prior to the start of the contract• Bachelor's degree or willing to pursue full certification and license• Core Content or Regular Education• Bilingual/Bi-Cultural• ESL preferred• Must be hired by a school district to apply for One-Year License with Stipulations with DPI• MMSD considers fully licensed candidates before those who are not licensed
